◈

Getting Started

The first step is a free 15-minute phone consultation. You can book online at my scheduling page, or call or text me at (512) 641-9528. We'll spend 15 minutes talking about what's going on, and I'll let you know how — or whether — I can help. If I'm not the right fit, I'll do my best to point you toward someone who is.

It's a low-pressure 15-minute phone call. You'll tell me a little about what's been going on — no need to share everything, just enough for us to get a sense of fit. I'll answer any questions you have about therapy, my approach, and logistics. By the end we'll both know whether it makes sense to move forward. There's no commitment and nothing to prepare in advance.

The first session is all about getting to know each other and getting a clear picture of where you are. We'll talk about what brought you in, a bit of your history, and what you're hoping to get from therapy. My clients often say they feel a sense of relief after the first session — not because everything is solved, but because they've taken the step and there's a plan in place. By the end, we'll have a clear direction for our work together.

I make it a priority to respond to new client inquiries within 24 hours. After the free consultation, I'm typically able to schedule a first session within 7–10 days. If you're in a more urgent situation, mention that when you reach out and I'll do my best to accommodate.

◇

Sessions & Scheduling

Standard sessions are 50 minutes. Extended sessions of 75 minutes are also available when we decide together that more time would be beneficial — for example, during intensive grief processing or complex assessment. Most clients start with 50-minute sessions.

I recommend weekly sessions to start — research consistently shows that weekly therapy produces better outcomes than biweekly. We'll establish a recurring weekly time slot that becomes yours. As you make progress, we can work together to space sessions out as makes sense for where you are in the process.

It varies — and that's not a cop-out. Some clients come in with a specific issue and feel ready to graduate after a few months. Others want ongoing support through the perinatal period and beyond. Perinatal anxiety and OCD often respond well within 8–12 focused sessions. Grief work tends to be less linear. What I can promise is that we check in regularly about your progress, and I'll never keep you in therapy longer than is actually useful.

My current working hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. All sessions are virtual, so there's no commute — you can attend from home, your car, or wherever works for you as long as you have a private space and a reliable internet connection.

I ask for at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged a $30 late cancellation fee, which is automatically charged at midnight of the missed session. I completely understand that life with a newborn or during pregnancy is unpredictable — if something comes up, please reach out as soon as possible and we'll work it out.

We talk about it — openly and without it being weird. Therapeutic fit matters, and if something isn't clicking I want to know so we can adjust. If the right answer is finding a different therapist, I will actively help you do that. My goal is for you to get better, not to keep you as a client.

Cost & Insurance

$165 for a 50-minute individual session. $200 for a 75-minute extended session. The free 15-minute consultation has no charge. Payment is due at the time of service via credit card, HSA, or FSA.

It depends on your state. For Texas clients, I accept BCBS (Blue Cross Blue Shield) and UnitedHealthcare in-network, in addition to self-pay. For clients in Colorado, Florida, Illinois, and Ohio, I am self-pay only. If you have different insurance or are outside Texas, I provide a superbill after each session so you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement — many PPO plans cover 50–80% of costs once your OON deductible is met.

A superbill is a detailed receipt for therapy services that includes all the billing codes your insurance needs to process an out-of-network claim. I provide one after each session. You submit it to your insurance company — online, by mail, or through their app — and they send reimbursement directly to you, typically within 2–4 weeks. To find out if you have OON benefits, call the member services number on your insurance card and ask: "What are my out-of-network mental health benefits?"

Yes — therapy is a qualified medical expense under both HSA and FSA rules. You can pay directly with your HSA or FSA card. This is one of the best ways to reduce the out-of-pocket cost since you're using pre-tax dollars. If your card doesn't process automatically, I can provide a receipt for manual reimbursement through your plan administrator.

Logistics

All sessions are virtual, conducted via a secure HIPAA-compliant video platform. You'll receive a link before each session. All you need is a device with a camera and microphone, a reliable internet connection, and a private space where you won't be overheard. Many clients join from their bedroom, car, or home office.

I am licensed to provide virtual therapy in Texas, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, and Ohio. You must be physically located in one of these states during your sessions. If you travel across state lines for an extended period, please let me know so we can assess whether we can continue working together during that time.

Not at all. I'm based in Austin but all sessions are virtual. I see clients across all of Texas — Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Fort Worth, and everywhere in between — as well as in Colorado, Florida, Illinois, and Ohio. As long as you're in one of those states, we can work together regardless of where you're located.

Yes — with a few legally required exceptions. As a licensed therapist, I am a mandated reporter, which means I am required to report credible evidence of abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or dependent adult, or if I believe there is an imminent risk of harm to yourself or others. Outside of these specific circumstances, everything you share in session is completely confidential and will not be disclosed without your written consent.

Is This Right For Me?

I specialize in working with women navigating the perinatal period — pregnancy, postpartum, and pregnancy loss. My specific areas of focus are perinatal anxiety, postpartum OCD and intrusive thoughts, and grief related to miscarriage, TFMR, stillbirth, and carrying with a life-limiting diagnosis. If you're experiencing something in this space and aren't sure if it fits — reach out anyway. The free consultation is exactly for figuring that out.

If you're asking that question, it's worth a conversation. Perinatal anxiety exists on a spectrum, and you don't need to be in crisis to deserve support. If anxiety is disrupting your sleep, your relationships, your ability to be present with your baby or enjoy your pregnancy — that's enough. The free consultation is a no-pressure way to talk through what you're experiencing and see whether therapy makes sense right now.

No. I have sat with women carrying thoughts they were certain made them monsters, and I have watched them realize — session by session — that they were never dangerous, just suffering. Intrusive thoughts, fears about your baby, complicated feelings about motherhood — none of it will shock me, and none of it will change how I see you. The only thing that matters is getting you the help you need.

No — not for intrusive thoughts. Intrusive thoughts that cause you distress and that you would never act on are not reportable. As a mandated reporter, I am required to report credible evidence that a child is being harmed — not thoughts. In fact, the horror and shame you feel about your thoughts is strong evidence that you are not a danger to your child. Women with harmful intentions don't lie awake terrified of their own thoughts.

If I'm not the right fit for what you need — either after the consultation or further into our work together — I will actively help you find someone who is. I have a network of trusted colleagues and will do my best to connect you with the right person rather than leaving you to start the search over from scratch.

Still have questions?

The free 15-minute consultation is the easiest way to get them answered — and to find out if we're a good fit. No commitment, no paperwork, just a real conversation.
